Beliefs and their Power

“The most Powerful force on Earth….is what I say to myself….and what I BELIEVE!!”

A belief is the marriage of thought and emotion in the body. When beliefs are negative or pessimistic they limit us and sabotage our results. For that reason , it is important to stop and take time to analyse your beliefs.

So, it’s important to understand that peoples’ beliefs are what they are assuming to be true based on the external experiences and internal perception. Beliefs are not necessarily true or factual in the real world. The power of each belief comes from the individual believer and the electrical and magnetic energy we put out into the world. Consequently, you can attract events, experiences and people in your life to match your beliefs.

For that reason, it is very important to adopt beliefs that serve you and let go of those beliefs that limit you. Beliefs can be very empowering, and they can be equally disempowering.

They can be changed!!! Challenge them! Reframe them!

Where do beliefs come from?

As children we take a message, translate it and personalize it, then store it as a belief we operate from. For many of us this remains in place for the rest of our lives.

Between the ages of 0-7 are our programming years. These are the years we take on beliefs, about ourselves and life. Many of those will remain unconscious throughout the rest of our lives, though they will show up in our behaviours, achievements, our goals, how we choose our friends, our life partners and so on.

If you think about it, every belief that you have, has been put there or suggested by somebody else.

Self-Limiting Beliefs:

Beliefs, attitudes, values etc are drawn from our past experiences and are stored in the subconscious mind, below the level of conscious awareness.

95% of our consciousness is subconscious, so while we are mostly unaware of their influence on us, they direct our observable actions and behaviour

70% of the programs in the subconscious are not taking us in the direction we want to go in

Subconscious beliefs sit on top of our genes and that’s how we perceive our reality, this create our outcomes in life by;

  1. affecting our biological outcomes
  2. changing our behaviour
  3. and influencing our psychological reality

Take a few moments to consider how your life has manifested as a result of these beliefs.

While becoming aware is a wonderful thing, awareness is only a first step to actually changing the beliefs!

Everyone has beliefs which have limited them and kept them from achieving what they are capable of. The good news is we have great ability to change the limiting beliefs of our lives once we are aware, we have them. We can change and operate from an entirely different mindset and there is evidence to support this.

The difficulty is in knowing how to change those old limiting beliefs, perceptions and values into new, self-enhancing ones.
